I woke in a panic the first morning in our new house when I heard what sounded like a jackhammer in our bedroom.  For several weeks I consulted plumbers thinking we had an issue with our water pipes when the irrigation system kicked on, only to discover that this woodpecker was the source of the noise.  He loves to pound on our metal chimney.  We have two chimneys, so he moves from one to the other.  Great.  I finally got a picture of him.
